In Summary, for all MUSCLE CAR enthusiasts please look over each item on the car your purchasing, don't take AL's information. I made a very reasonable request that Hanksters Hot Rods and Muscle Cars either credit me for the misrepresentation of the rear end or provide something to help me. After Gary learned that there was no other 10 bolt HD other than Dana he quickly recanted the statement from the night prior. I spoke to the owner who said he would in fact look to see if a 10 bolt HD existed and if so he would replace the rear end. I immediately contacted Al (Salesman) he said and I quote "you bought the car as is, you had the car on the lift and studied the car for several hours", you knew it wasn't a 8.75 rear end". After receiving the car I looked over the rear end to ensure it was a fact a 10 Bolt HD and it's not, it's a 8.25 open diff with 2.70 something gears. I must note that the car was never placed on a lift, I was informed that there wasn't a lift available to look under the car, I find out after from Al, that the lift is out doors on the side of the building. I informed Al that I wasn't aware of a 10 bolt HD, he insured me that the rear end was Heavy Duty and would hold up. I flew to Daytona to check out a 1971 Dodge Super Bee, I was aware the Motor and Trans were not a number matching, Al (Sales Person) informed me that before I showed up the car did a 2 wheel peel and the rear end although wasn't a 8.75 it was a Heavy Duty 10 Bolt. I want to provide a recent experience with Hanksters Hot Rod and Muscle Cars of Daytona Florida.
